Product introduction

 

Paraformaldehyde is a white crystalline powder formed by the polymerization of formaldehyde, with the pungent smell of formaldehyde. Its chemical formula can be expressed as (CH₂O)ₙ (n is usually 8-100). It releases formaldehyde slowly at room temperature and decomposes even faster when heated. It is soluble in hot water, alcohols and strong alkaline solutions, but insoluble in organic solvents. As an important chemical raw material, paraformaldehyde is often used to produce high molecular materials such as phenolic resin and urea-formaldehyde resin. It can also be used as a disinfectant and preservative in agriculture (such as soil disinfection) and the medical field (such as a component of root canal treatment drugs), and can also participate in chemical reactions as a formaldehyde donor in organic synthesis. It should be noted that its dust is irritating to the respiratory tract and skin. Protective measures should be taken when using it.
